CABARET, the Musical
As the 1920s draw to a close, a Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience to escape from the outside world. Through musical numbers and commentary combined with a vivid and personal story, the show explores the decadent, heady and tumultuous life in Berlin as Germany slowly yields to the Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, immediately becomes involved with British singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a sweet Jewish fruit seller who asks for her hand. Filled with theatrical fire and themes that could not be more current, Cabaret presents a captivating picture of a society on the brink of profound change. Don't miss it!
